In summertime there are three tours to choose from. All offering lots of activities and exciting experiences in the unspoilt nature of Fulufjell National Park: Our 8 day Villmark Active itinerary is a unique combination of exciting outdoor activities including a guided hiking tour within the National Park, some guided Nordic wildlife and moose safari, an exciting bear watching safari, a beaver safari and even some canoeing and rafting trips. Discover the stunning scenery of and around Fulufjell National Park with its wild rivers, lush meadows, splendid forests and spectacular mountains. Our 8 day Villmark Adventure is an exiting adventure week offering similar experiences as our Villmark Active program but it does also include some more "adventurous" activities such as a full day white water rafting on the Trysilelva river. Our 8 day Villmark Experience is another new alternative with additional focus on firsthand experiences in the wilderness (Villmark) around Lj ø rdalen. Thus this tour includes two two-day-activities in a very small group where you stay overnight in the wilderness (1x camping, 1x basic hut without electricity and running water).
No matter which tour you choose: Set wild romantically amongst splendid pine forest right at the banks of the Ljøra river the Villmark Lodge is your comfortable base camp to explore the great wilderness of south- east Norway. Famous Fulufjell National Park boasting a breathtaking environment, unspoilt nature, a unique flora and a precious wildlife is a paradise for nature lovers and is situated only a few kilometres away. Lots of spectacular hiking trails are available to discover the unique and stunning natural scenery within the National Park. Led by well trained hunting dogs and experienced guides you will join a moose safari in order to observe the “king of the forest” in open nature. You follow the steps of Europe's biggest predaceous animal on a bear watching safari – and with a bit of fortune you may spot Master Bruin himself.
Located only a few steps from the Ljøra river the Villmark Lodge is also a perfect location for canoeing and rafting trips. By canoe and raft you will enjoy the amazing beauty of the scenery and the great tranquillity and you will explore the natural and cultural highlights of the area such as the over 100 year old float lifting device in Støa. Some easy to navigate rapids provide excitement and great fun during the journey. River Ljøra furthermore is a great spot for fishing and famous for its large population of beaver making it an ideal place for beaver safaris in the evenings.
For the more adventurous traveller nearby Trysilelva is one of the best rivers for white water rafting in Norway. During your journey you will enjoy some great views, a spectacular changing landscape, many rapids of medium level - suitable for both beginners and advanced river rafters - and the relatively warm water of Trysilelva. In addition there are lots of exciting optional activities to choose from. Just to name a few: The ravins and canyons of the area are a perfect location for Canyoning trips of each level. And the surrounding mountains, the primeval forests and the National Park offer lots of additional panoramic walks and great trails for horseback riding.
