Experience Indian Summer in Norway. The time when wild berries, heather, grasses and leaf trees on the plateaus and meadows around the National Park turn into a bright and colourful scenery. Take a look behind the scenes of our Husky Farm and participate in our preparation of the upcoming winter season. Most of all join us on the exiting training of our sled dogs for the winter and spend a wonderful time with our dogs inside and outside the kennel. This is a fantastic short break for dog lovers with a very special insight into the world of the sled dogs and behind our scenes.

4 days/3 nights - THURSDAY - SUNDAY

Day 1, Thursday: Arrival. Make your own way either by car directly to Ljørdalen or by coach from Oslo City Bus Terminal or Airport Oslo-
Gardermoen to Trysil. In Trysil you will be met by our driver. Transfer to Ljørdalen where you will be warmly welcomed at the Villmark Lodge. The
Villmark Husky Farm where your dog-sledding tours will start from is situated just a few kilometres outside the village of Ljørdalen in the hills. Duration
of transfer between Husky Farm and Villmark Lodge is approx. 10 to 15 minutes.

Day 2, Friday: Husky training and trekking tour with sled dog. Today it is all about our dogs. Short transfer from Villmark Lodge to our
nearby Villmark Husky Farm which is situated on a plateau in the mountains right in the centre of a vast wilderness preserve. Learn to know our
more than 160 friendly sled dogs and learn the essentials on handling the dogs, the life in the kennel and all about the care of the dogs. Assist us in
the daily care of the dogs and in harnessing the dogs for the training tour. Take your time to cuddle your favourites, too. Together with our musher
you then take a seat on the quad bike drawn by approx. 12-16 of our sled dogs heading off on an exciting training tour on small trails into the Norwegian
wilderness and the autumn coloured forests and meadows. After returning to the Villmark Husky Farm from this exciting experience you will
be assigned your "own" sled dog (one dog per person) who will accompany you on an approx. 5 km guided trekking tour into the unspoilt wilderness.
A waist leash to lead your dog is provided as equipment. Tonight you will stay at a basic but cosy cabin right in the wilderness with a woodburning
stove but without running water and electricity.

Day 3, Saturday: Trekking tour with sled dog. Accompanied by your dog and your guide you will further discover the pristine wilderness of the
nature preserves on today's walk. Enjoy the day out with your dog and experience the magnificent autumn colours up on the plateaus, the unspoilt
and wild nature with hundreds of years old primeval forests and great scenic views. In the afternoon you return to the Villmark Husky Farm and the
Villmark Lodge.

Day 4, Sunday: Departure. You depart either with your own car or will be transferred to Trysil where you will board the express coach to Oslo.

great ride on small tracks through the wilderness, endless forests and plateaus at the edge of the Fulufjell National Park. After returning to the Villmark
Husky Farm from this exciting experience you will be assigned your "own" sled dog (one dog per person) who will accompany you on an
approx. 5 km guided trekking tour into the unspoilt wilderness. A waist leash to lead your dog is provided as equipment. Tonight you will stay at a
basic but cosy cabin right in the wilderness with a wood-burning stove but without running water and electricity.

Day 4, Saturday: Trekking tour with sled dog. Accompanied by your dog and your guide you will further discover the pristine wilderness of the

Accommodation:
Villmark Lodge: You stay at cosy Villmark Lodge, nestled amongst lush forest right at the banks of the Ljøra river and built out of wood and glass. The Lodge consists of 10 free-standing cottages (double houses) with 2 private apartments each and a central building with reception, a cosy restaurant with fireplace, bar and billiard table. Furthermore the resort features a centrally located complimentary sauna. The spacious apartments (double house half) of approx. 63 m² are furnished in typical Norwegian style and offer private entrance, 2 bedrooms, bathroom (shower, WC), a cosy living area, TV, fully equipped kitchenette and an open gallery. Apartments are serviced once per week. Booking of single rooms: 2 single rooms share an apartment (double house half). Each guest has his own private bedroom. No single supplement!
Wilderness Cabin: During the 1.5 days overnight trekking tour you stay in a cosy but very basic mountain cabin without running water and electricity. The cabin has one spacious room with a wood-burning stove. There is no separate bedroom and you will sleep in a sleeping bag on mattresses.
